There has not been a time in my carrier that I ever felt like I was not carrying my own weight on a project or team. Something that can largely be attributed to the fact that I always seek work when I have nothing to do. Typically, the first thing I ask myself if I find myself with nothing to do is, “am I really done.” A question I then ask a teammate or supervisor and if they say no I then ask. “Then what needs to be done.” This way I not only stay on top of things, but I also clue others into what I’m doing. Asking such as question also acts as a quality check of the work you’ve already done, so no matter what you're going to either end up with something to do or the sense that you really are done. And if and only if you get an all clear from the team or a supervisor, depending on the job and situation, then your actually done and can now focus on something else or take it easy knowing that you got everything done on time with efficiently.
